“A spaceship landed in my backyard and these very tiny creatures came out. I said to one: “Are you really very tiny? and he said: “No, we’re really very far away.”
I had the chance to visit the Pyramids and, frankly, was more excited to see nearby Israel, Cairo, and the Nile. Of course when in Egypt one visits the Pyramids so we did. On the drive out you look out the window as one does and as you notice the locals you then turn your head and suddenly see the Pyramids looming out in the distance and you cannot believe their immensity. I just never imagined they were that large. Crazy. As big as you might think they are...they are bigger.
It is always a refreshing delight to receive a "Beauty is truth" post - continuing to bring joy to my heart, peace to my soul, knowledge to my brain... ❤️
Love all your articles, continue to learn from you as I revisit my travels, looking at David, being mesmerized by Dali, the list goes on and the heart of the whale was most amazing along with the size of Africa!
Yes that one astounds me as to the size of Africa..,I knew the maps distort it but thought it was due to racism…interesting and pleasant to hear that it is “scientific” and not to belittle the great continent. One day I will see the Pyramids and it needs to be sooner rather than later.
I really enjoy your curation. It is eclectic and meaningful. Thanks for this interesting article and the examples you chose to share. The whale's heart is astounding...must be a magnificent animal to behold and hear! And I loved how you made "dwarf" into a verb with the Titanic and cruise ship comparison.
Wow the blue whale heart! 🐋 💙 Truly the hearts of the ocean - these are great scale photos & how true that we are always sumising our life and relationships that can seem like one thing until another picture proves the truth of it.
And I can only add, from Steven Wright:

It is very interesting article. I think this one helps to have different perspective when it comes about our personal knowledge.
I love this! Thank you for sharing, it makes one think and put things into perspective.

Thank you so very much for this perspective on the wonders that I took for granted I knew. I was wrong. Transformative knowledge. Thank you.
Stunning comparisons! An alternative title: "Size is Relative"
Amazing post! Thanks for this one. Made me upgrade my subscription :-)
Messages like this make it all worth it. Thank you so much.
I've never been but always heard, the sculpture at Mount Rushmore isn't as big as you think.
Every day I learn. This today has made me aware of how much I do not know.

Thank you.
I will upgrade, you interest my mind and soul.
Great article. It expands the mind to consider something you thought you knew from a whole new view point.
Grateful to you for this article! I saw the headline and came here to mention Africa and was so, so grateful that you had it on the list at the top!!

My late husband used to love the comparison of

Relationships’ perceptions are sometimes fluid, deepening, narrowing, seeping through places we didn’t know they could go.
