So cool to see a Munich library featured! The law library is beautiful, but access to it is actually quite tricky (unless you study law). They have tours, but the times are at weird hours and only 15 min long, if I remember correctly. I also visited the George Peabody library at Johns Hopkins a few months back, and it’s gorgeous—probably my favorite Baltimore landmark.
Oh! I am from Maryland (currently living in south central PA just over the MD line) and JH has so many libraries on campus! I would love to work there! (Library science grad student!) My friend in college actually looked into getting *married* at the Peabody (so expensive) which would be so cool, to get married in a library!!
Boston Public Library is very beautiful. There's a great video of a drone flying in through the front door and then giving you a tour of the library here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzW1qnbQ3Oc
Has anyone seen The Page Master with Macaulay Culkin, voices of Patrick Stewart and Whoopie Goldberg? It’s one of my favorites! I have often thought the afterlife must surely look like that beautiful library! Watch it if you can find it! #highlyrecommend
"If I am left on a deserted island that has a library with 100000+ books and enough provisions, the only message on the sand that I will write is DONT'T RESCUE ME!"
Love all of them. Klementinum in Prague is stunning too... it was the library for all the alchemists during the King Rudolf II era. He was obsessed with finding Golem, making gold from lead, creating a potion of immortality, and the books in the library are esoteric treasure today.
The idea of going to the NY City library for the purpose of "to read between the lions", the aptly named Patience and Fortitude. I wonder if they thought of that when they put the lions there.
Beautiful images and so interesting! I'mm hooked. Subscribed and ready to do some learning instead of mindless scrolling. Looking forward to digging through your archive. Thanks for sharing❣️

Oh, that's sad to hear, I wanted to check it out and study there or look at the books there :(
I LOVE beautiful libraries! 💜
Very nice! I love the diversity among the libraries you showed. I’ve only been to two of these. Need to add a few to my travel list!
So beautiful !!

I've spent many an afternoon at the BPL! This drone video is breathtaking.
They are all beautiful. I like to add one: Livraria Lello, Oporto https://www.livrarialello.pt/

I recently changed my profile info :

Good compilation, but there is another one: the library from the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo del Escorial. You can see photos here:

what a lovely library ode, thank you for sharing. i also recommend the charming harry potteresque “a.d. white library” at cornell university in ithaca, new york: https://exhibits.library.cornell.edu/a-d-white-library-tour/feature/architecture

Thank you for this! If I were to suddenly die in this space, I would die a very happy man.

Staatliche Bibliothek Neuberg a.d. Donau, Bavaria is another beautiful library to add to this. Only accessible via a city tour, though.
I would add the library at the Palace of Mafra in Portugal. Visiting it was unforgettable to me.
