| Erin Moran • Movies/TV | ||||||||
Given
that reruns of Happy Days, a 1970s sitcom about life in the '50s, are
popular again in the 1990s, is it any wonder one of the stars is as
ageless as the show is timeless?
Moran, who played cute Joanie Cunningham on Happy Days (1974-84) and Joanie Loves Chachi (1982-83), says she has done a lot of growing up in the past 14 years. But to look at her, it appears she hasn't done much in the way of aging. "I look just exactly the same," says Moran, 35. "I keep hearing that I look so young and I look exactly the same." Perhaps people are thrown by her youthful appearance because she has been such an infrequent presence on TV in recent years. It's worth noting, though, that Moran chose to leave acting, as opposed to being forced out by lack of work. "I was working since I was five and I said, 'Yeah, I would love to have a life.' That's what I was going for and went for. Then I got married and put my career on hold. I wasn't leaving acting permanently, but it went on longer than I really wanted it to." Now Moran, who lives in Los Angeles, has entered new chapters in her life, personally and professionally. As for acting, she says she's available. She even had a small part this year in Dear God, a movie directed by Happy Days creator Garry Marshall. |
